I don't normally blog two days in a row. But this is a rare entry. Extremely special, I dare say. Where the inspiration comes from? Here where it first started -- and brought me to the latest-and-hottest game in the blogosphere!

A very weak distasteful attempt by the pretty Ms. Natasha to hudson it:
saya mahu satu kehidupan
kamu mahu sesuatu yang lain
kita tidak dapat makan kek coklat
jadi kita makan sesama diri.
So, I decided to re-hudson it into this:
aku mahu satu hayat
engkau mahu satu lagi
sama-sama kita tak dapat
kita pun saling berkongsi diri.
Guys, fancy to try some hudsoning? You should -- at least -- try it once while it's still trendy. At the moment, everyone seems to enjoy it. Very much.
Post-script:
I made a silly comment in this blog – genuinely convinced that McCough's 'Cake' was a satirical poem. Then, I found out that he actually wrote for children. Mainly. Oopps!
So, probably I was just reading too much into it when I offered this 'totally-out-of-context' translation. It might have occured to some people that Natasha and I share the same level of IQ. Ciss, bedebah sungguh! J

Patut tulis tentang Datin muda ni. Hantar pi suratkhabar. A very interesting perspective. Terutama hal 'menjamah' tu. Tak terfikir pula pasal tu.

Wow.. this is quite an eye-opener (tentang Datin NH). Menarik juga bila komuniti bloggers dpt kantoikan dia plagiat 3 sajak.. and maybe ada lagi sajak yang ditiru.. Suatu amaran buat orang lain juga tu.. bukan hanya untuk Datin NH..
Tentang maksud sajak asal tu, saya rasa tafsiran awal Dr Rem ada betulnya.. tak semestinya untuk kanak2 sahaja (walaupun terdapat dlm buku kanak2).
Lagipun, maksud LIFE dalam "I wanted one life, you wanted another" tak mungkin hanya berkenaan makanan.
Ayat "we couldn't have our cake", pada pandangan saya, masih boleh diterjemahkan sambil mengekalkan CAKE yg merupakan suatu English idiom. Caranya? jadikan idiom itu metafora dalam BM (walaupun tak sedap). Contohnya: "Kek impian diri tak dapat kita nikmati"
Manakala ayat akhir boleh jadi: "Maka kita menjamah sesama sendiri". Perkataan "menjamah" di sini boleh bermaksud "bergaduh", atau boleh juga bermaksud "menikmati". Sekurang2nya ruang tafsiran masih terbuka walaupun sudah diterjemahkan. | |

oh, Puan Besar Zara Davidson, Raja Zarith Sofea dan Tengku Aminah Maimunah of Pahang itu adalah contoh beauty with brain. Tungku Aminah ini adalah pelajar terbaik Sekolah Tun Fatimah yang sangat cintakan pergerakan Pandu Puteri Girl Giude semasa zaman persekolahannya dulu.

But now saya faham kenapa awak angkat isu ni. Iyelah dengan title baru NH sebagai Datin Ranhill, plagiat walau 4 baris pun boleh tak pasal-pasal beri malu besar pada kita.

Kesian (to all parties)! When I first read the English poem, and I admit I didn't know he writes mainly for children, I would have translated it the way you did here. It has more taste. Your translation in that other blog is a bit crude. Hmm, I can think of several ways to eah other, but I think it's not quite appropriate for me to list them here! | |

And as for the 'double meaning' -- I quite agree with you actually. The poem appears to be a little bit too 'dark' and 'deep' (well, may be cheeky -- depends on how one may look at it) for children. But well... who knows what really in the poet's mind.. kan. | |

Me thinks the Cake poem is a cheeky double meaning poem not meant for children. It should be read out loud. The shock factor makes you wanna say;
