I guess it wouldn't take more than 45 minutes.
The winter is peaking here. This time of the year, typically is the coldest. Masa keluar dari kapalterbang tadi, rasa sejuk sampai menggigit ke dalam tulang. Norwich lebih sejuk lagi sebab ia terletak hampir dengan pantai. Chilling air from the North Sea will intensify the 'coldness' throughout the winter.
Wrong timing (to travel to Europe), really. But I don't have much choice. Ini bukan sesi percutian yang boleh dipilih-pilih. This is another battle in life -- to win, or to lose.
OK, I need a warm jumper and nice wool scarf. Two of few things I must get first, as soon as I reach Norwich. Oh ya, termasuk juga single terbaru Katie Melua + Eva Cassidy (What a Wonderful World).
This kind of songs would never make it to Malaysia. Why? Because being the nation with lousy taste in music -- the purely-market-driven industry here is either obsessed with a lunatic yeller like Whitney Housten (seriously, I never understand why people find it pleasant to listen to a woman with gigantic mouth screaming her lung out!); or some pretty faces like Westlife, Boyzone et. el; or some cheap sluts chicks like Ms. Spears and Ms. Minogue.
This rather sad state of our music industry explains why AF is extraordinarily popular in Malaysia. Well, everyone to his/her own.
Sorry, I'm a bit depressed and lonley here. So, I need to bitch my therapy! :)

You know....do re mi fa so la ti do??? a b c d e f g... g or do adalah range tertinggi yang kita boleh pergi, dan tak ramai boleh pergi setinggi itu, orang kitakan semua mabuk nak jadi angkasawan, so faham-faham ajelah kan.
Well I'm a lateral thinker.
Kat Malaysia rasa-rasanya belum ramai lagi lateral thinker...Kita pun baru kenal Sir Edward De Bono, sebenarnya. Yeah kita ada Prof Hassan Langgulung, tapi nak fahamkan apa dia tulis saya ikut bergulung-gulung sakit kepala. Esok-esok kalu dah ramai orang boleh berfikir lateral, tak mustahil lagu-lagu yang kita suka semualah bule ngetoooppppp. Penyanyi kita pun bibir tak de lebo sangat, kalu lebo-lebo ni memang masalahlahkan chooooiiiiii hahahaha...

And two things making the cold of winter bearable. In autumn, you begin to plant hyacinths in the house, all colours - pink, purple, white, yellow. If you put them in the house, by the window, the flowers will come out before spring - and their fragrant smell is wonderful.
Then during the last few days of winter, before you notice a change in temperature signalling the coming of spring, you begin to walk slower when you come up to bushes. You look for very delicate, small white heads hanging in the air, about 4 - 5 inches from the ground. The snowdrops. Once you've located them, you take the same path home everyday, you train your eyes to the same spot, where the close buds would pop open. Then you know, SPRING HAS ARRIVED. You then walk home with a spring in your feet.

I miss winters (surprisingly!) I miss having hot chocolate by the fire (or radiator, whichever's available). Get any drinking chocolate, put enough into a mug, microwave at medium to high for 1.5 minutes. Watch out after 1 minute, the spill, if it happens isn't pretty. Then I like to leave the hot choc for a few minutes, until a delicious thin layer forms on top, and then my winter delight begins.
I miss winter too, because the sharp cold air allows me to think. The thoughts in the head gets louder and clearer. I have a favourite spot, a particular bench facing the Thames. The same spot is too crowded during summer, not that summer isn't festive. But thoughts are clearest when it is coldest. Try and make the best out of this winter.
p/s I've just given away the sim card.
